Jude 22-25 JW apologists and anybody else.
by wearewatchingyouman in22 also, continue showing mercy+ to some who have doubts;+23 save them+ by snatching them out of the fire.
but continue showing mercy to others, doing so with fear, while you hate even the garment that has been stained by the flesh.+24 now to the one who is able to guard you from stumbling and to make you stand unblemished+ in the sight of his glory* with great joy,25 to the only god our savior through jesus christ our lord, be glory, majesty, might, and authority for all past eternity and now and into all eternity.
so, then - why does the gb separate those who become doubtful out of fear they will stumble some?

Blondie,
My pure guess is that when an Elder "judges" another, that they are driven by self-preservation. In other words, if that Elder does not act cautiously, that Elder could fall under suspicion.
Just a guess.

My reading of the early history of Jude, 2 Peter, 2 John, 3 John, Revelation and Hebrews shows that they had a very rough ride for the first 400 years (and more) of the Christian Church. (Where was the "FDS" during those heated debates? Were people such as Origen, Irenaeus, Cyril, and Athanasius, etc., etc., members of the FDS??)
There are too many details to go into here, so I recommend the article by Professor F.W. Beale in Volume 1 of "The Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible", article: "Canon of the NT", especially pages 523-532. If you email me, I can provide a copy of these pages in Word format, which then permits words to be searched.
(The doubt of Paul's authorship of Hebrews is indicated by its location in the NT: whereas Paul's writings are placed in order of their length, Hebrews is not positioned where it otherwise would have been - not that Paul wrote any of the "Pastorals").

If there were no members of the "Slave Class" throughout history, who then were the spirit-led people who decided which books would be used as their sacred Scripture (NT)?

BTW,
The NT book of 2 Peter, which was written by a disciple of Paul in the middle of the 2nd century (about 140 CE), wrote it as a commentary on the book of Jude.
Jude is another example of the impact of the Book of Enoch.
Just some stuff that the WTS ignores because it does not fit their agenda.

The WTS uses Scripture this way:
(1) They have a position that they have arrived at.
(2) After that, they look for a Biblical text or other source that can be made to appear to support their position.
(3) They ignore all Biblical texts and other sources that don't agree with the conclusion they set out with.
Look at the structure of a typical paragraph in a magazine or book. They set out their position and then append Bible references at the end. They look for "supports" of their prejudged decision.
As a result, the WTS, despite having the word "Bible" in its title, uses very little of the Bible, and then in a presumptive manner, and it misquotes and misrepresents sources to make them fit.

Hi Kate,
I am putting my mind through another course of mental gymnastics.
Apologies for being vague, but all will be shown when I get around to finishing, which at the rate I am going will only be a few months.
However, if you or anyone has thoughts or useful information on the New Testament Apocrypha, I will be delighted to hear from you.

In effect the GB says the new testament was only written for the 144k - right?
by Comatose inbecause if you just read it then its plain that all should partake of the emblems and go to heaven etc.
they get around that by saying it only applied to those when written who all anointed and then a small group today.
so they take away the bible for the average witness.

Rattigan,
"Revelation is for our day"?
This has been the catchcall of each generation, not just this one.
I suggest that research into the process during the first 600 years of Christianity in regards to Revelation is in order.
Decide whether Revelation (or any other NT book) should be in the Bible. It is only the RC Church that took a vote on which books should constitute the Bible, and that vote took place in the 15th century. All others base their decision on Tradition. Ironic, isn't it?
